Spring 2016

Well time flies and here we are almost year since the last post. It’s definitely time for an update! Since the last blog post we’ve had a busy year with several boat shows, deliveries and lots of work developing our new models.

We’re happy to announce that we received orders for the first two 44′ Sedans and have started production on both. We plan to deliver the first to Seattle early next year and the second to Mobile, AL in the spring next year. We will post some updates shortly here and/or on our Facebook account at www.facebook.com/northpacificyachts . Please do check out our Facebook page as we frequently post construction pictures, new boats, happy owners and other news.

On the topic of new boats and happy owners, Andrew and Patti took delivery of their new 45′ Pilothouse in the Pacific Northwest only one month ago and 20160420_183414_resizedare already on the border between BC and Alaska. They have no firm plans but intend to spend the the whole spring and summer in Northern BC and Alaska. What a great trip!

Another noteworthy trip to mention is a cruise in SE Asia that a North Pacific 49 has been on for about a year now. The owner took delivery in SE_Asia_cruiseHong Kong, went to Manilla and cruised some of the Philippine Islands. From there they went through Indonesia to Singapore, up the Malaysian Coast to Kuala Lumpur and are now travelling in the Andaman Sea in Thailand. They have cruised well over 4000 nm in the area and are thoroughly enjoying the experience. It’s amazing how far you can cruise, island hopping, in SE Asia and many other parts of the World without crossing an Ocean. IMG_4675Once this trip is complete the owner intends to ship the boat to the Mediterranean for a year or two. Surely there will be more to report on this boat’s adventure.

Back to new projects:

We’ve been receiving a lot of interest lately in a North Screen Shot 2016-06-15 at 4.31.05 PMPacific 39′ Pilothouse with reverse rake pilothouse windows. This is a relatively minor mold change and we will now be offering the 39 with this new look and with Next Generation finish. Please contact us for more details.

Finally, we are going to be ready to start building the first 59′ Pilothouse in the fall. This is an exciting project and we look forward to delivering the first one in 2018. If you are thinking about a boat in this size range the NP59 1_NP58_forward view 3_NP58 side viewshould be on the list. With an 18’4″ beam, plumb bow and LWL of 56’8′, the NP58 will offer the space of most boats found in the 65′ + range in a more manageable package. This includes a huge salon with separate dinning area, a great pilothouse and a full beam midship master with salon access. There will be two guests staterooms as well as the possibility of crew quarters. The 59 will be offered with standard twin engines and twin skegs as part of a comprehensive (and customizable) equipment list, lowering the stress of a new build. We are working closely with an Italian naval architect and interior designer for a top-of-the line look and feel. The 59 is going to be a stunning vessel and capable vessel (can be built to CE A standards) that will be a strong competitor in this category.

Whether you are thinking about a new NP59 or a pre-owned NP28, getting out 173_7359on the water is what’s important. There is a lifetime of possibilities and adventures out there so don’t delay; start making your dream a reality…

Spring/Summer 2015

We hope everyone has been out enjoying the great weather and getting some boating in! We know lots of North Pacific owners are having a wonderful Summer with reports of cruises from Florida to New England, Washington to Alaska and everything in between. We are looking forward to hearing more about these adventures during our Northwest Rendezvous Sept 20-24 in Anacortes. The organizers are expecting a great turn out and we hope to see as many NP owners there as possible. It’s a great event to learn about your boat (or future boat), new modifications, cruising grounds and to meet new cruising friends. Even if you don’t own an NP and are interested in learning more this is a great event to attend so please contact us for more information if you are interested. We are also planning an East Coast rendezvous at Block Island in CT in September but have not set dates yet.

We had a busy spring at North Pacific Yachts including several new

deliveries to happy owners (some pictures below) with more on the way. Brokerage has been strong for NP and most other companies in the industry which is a good sign that boat market is continuing to improve.

The tooling for the North Pacific 59′ hull is under construction. We are currently working on building the plug for the mold as you can see in the following pictures. The NP59 is going to be large for a 59′ vessel with its 18’3″ beam and a plumb bow. She will have the interior feel of many vessels in the 65′ range.

The woodworking skill and precision required to do this is amazing.

Fall Update, 2014

We hope everyone enjoyed their cruising season and is now thinking about next year’s adventure (in a new boat maybe?☺) . Also, we’d like to thank everyone who came to see us at the Seattle Boats Afloat Show and the Annapolis Power Boat Show this fall.

Our 9th annual rendezvous took place at Telegraph Harbour, Thetis Island, in the Canadian Gulf Islands in September. Owners had the opportunity to learn a lot about their NPs from fellow owners, listen to informative seminars and enjoy some great company. We heard wonderful stories from people who lived on their NPs this summer for several months as well as stories from weekend boaters and everything in between. It is great to see the enthusiasm, the obvious joy and great memories that people form out on the water. One of our favorite adventures came from new NP owners. They took ownership of their NP early July and after a one week shakedown cruise they headed North. We didn’t recommend this but they had a goal and did not want to put their dreams on hold. Here is what they did and those who know this area will recognize that this is a very ambitious first Summer with a new boat.

“One hell of a trip and a wondrous summer coming to an end.  We ran about 500 hours, traveled as far north as Glacier Bay where we spend over a week, came back via the Charlottes, traveling from Prince Rupert across Dixon Entrance to Masset and then down the West coast of Graham, through the Skitigate cut to Queen Charlotte City, the East coast of Moresby and back across Hecate Straits from Rose Harbor where we were holed up waiting for weather to subside – it blew 35-50 for a week.  We grabbed a very small window of opportunity to cross Hecate and ran from roughly 8:30 PM until 9 AM next morning, with Anne sick below – a long and rough night but the boat did well.

Boat preformed very well and the work to be done after 500 hours reasonable.

Henry M Aronson – NP43, Diva 2.0”

We hope to hear many more great stories from NP owners all over the World and hope they will post some of them on the owners website http://www.northpacificyachts.com

Now for NP news: We’ve been busy at North Pacific Yachts the past few months building new vessels and working on new designs. As you may have seen in earlier blog posts we are working on the North Pacific 58’ Pilothouse and the North Pacific 44’ Sedan. The NP58 is still in the design phase and we plan to start building molds in the spring. We have started the molds for the NP44 Sedan and hope to begin construction of hull #1 in April 2015. Please follow our website and Facebook page for updates as things progress.

The new North Pacific 49 was featured on the cover of Sea Magazine, Passagemaker and Pacific Yachting over the past 5 months (see our Press section) and we are hoping for some press on the new North Pacific 45 that was delivered this Spring. If you haven’t seen the new North Pacific 45’ Pilothouse or 49’ Pilothouse please contact us for a look. We are sure you will be very impressed, as the writers were, with North Pacific Yachts’ Next Generation.

Several pre-owned NPs changed hands over the past few months and what looks to have been a busy brokerage season for almost everyone seems to be continuing this fall. Listings are way down but we are expecting a couple new ones and if you’d like to be notified when one is coming available please send us an email and let us know what you are looking for.

Thank you for reading our fall update. We hope you’ll continue to follow along and hope one day you’ll join the happy and growing fleet of NP owners in a new or pre-owned North Pacific. Start making your dream a reality…

North Pacific 44′ Sedan

44_sedan

After receiving many requests for a larger, two stateroom sedan, we decided to work with Corsican Marine in Taiwan to design the North Pacific 44′ Sedan. Following is a link to the preliminary layout and design specs. The NP44 will have a large and spacious salon, well equipped up-galley with lots of working space and dual helm seats at the inside steering station. Below decks is a generous master stateroom with a queen sized island bed, high headroom, large portholes and lots of storage. The guest room with two single beds can also be built as an office/storage space. The head on the NP44 sedan is spacious and has a separate shower stall. Exterior spaces are unitized well with a fully covered aft deck, large swim platform, bow seating and a great flybridge for entertaining.

The NP44 Sedan will be built using the same hull mould  that was designed for the NP45 Pilothouse. This hull was specifically designed to provide efficiency, good stability with hard chines and large interior volume in the staterooms.

As with all North Pacific Yachts the NP44 Sedan is customizable and will be finished with our new Next Generation interior.

4501 Final Finishing and Shipping

The first North Pacific 45′ Pilothouse is undergoing final finishing and will ship on June 17th with an ETA into Vancouver, BC around the end of the month. The NP45 is similar in design to the 43 but has 13″ more beam, a plumb bow for extra stateroom space and reverse rake pilothouse windows. We plan to show 4501 at the Seattle Boat Show in September but if you’d like to see it sooner please contact NPY to arrange a showing.

Spring Update

Screen Shot 2014-05-12 at 10.33.01 AM

We hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather that finally seems to have arrived and is making good progress getting ready for the cruising season.

We’ve been busy at North Pacific Yachts and are looking forward to a great Spring and Summer. The new NP49 launched in January and the response has been excellent from the public and from the writers of several magazines. The NP49 is featured on the front cover of the May issue of Sea Magazine and the May/June issue of Passagemaker Magazine. You can read the articles in the Press section of our website. So far 5 new NP49s have been ordered and so far all orders have been from NP owners moving up. This is a great testament to way owners feel about their boats and dealing with North Pacific Yachts. This has also resulted in some excellent opportunities for those looking for pre-owned NPs and you can see the current listings at http://www.yachtworld.com/northpacific

We continue to make great progress on the North Pacific 45′ Pilothouse and are very much looking forward to delivering the first one mid-June to Vancouver, BC. The new NP45 is similar to the NP43 but with over 1′ more beam, reverse rake pilothouse windows and a plumb bow which allows for a huge amount of interior space in the forward staterooms. If you’d like to be kept up to date or would like to plan a private showing of this boat please send an email to sales@northpacificyachts.com

Looking forward North Pacific Yachts is working on the design of two new models, the North Pacific 44′ Sedan and the North Pacific 58′ Pilothouse. Following is a sneak peak at the preliminary diagrams for the 58 Pilothouse NP5800600002_arreng booklet_REV0 (without dimens); diagrams of the NP44 will follow in a later blog. The NP58 has a similar look and spacious design as other North Pacific Yachts but features a full walk around deck, portuguese bridge, a huge salon with separate dining room, a spacious pilothouse, three or four stateroom layouts, and stand up engine room and many great custom options. We’ll post more updates as we progress on the design and construction of the first NP58 over the next two years. If you have any interest in the NP58 please contact us soon and be part of the design process.

We plan to be at Trawler Fest Anacortes, May 15-17th and hope to see you there or out on the water this Summer!
